Like the stereo-typical wooden deck boards ( without the bad bits !) 

this superb colour has wide grooves on one side and narrow on the reverse.

For contrast, for edging etc, why not just flip the board ( per the photo shown below ) 

and lay the narrow grooves showing, for the edge.
